What are single vision lenses?

Single vision lenses are designed for the majority of people who wear glasses. They have the same strength (power) all over each lens (as opposed to bifocals and varifocals: see the questions just below). All of the frames that we sell on internetspecs.co.uk are only available with single vision lenses.

Are you qualified to sell prescription glasses?

Yes, I was a registered optometrist for 45 years, from 1973 until early 2018, and had my own practice in England from 1975 to 2015. (Please see the 'About Us' page on the website for more information).

All of our lenses are plastic because they're lighter and safer than glass lenses.

I play a lot of sport. Can you supply tougher lenses?

Yes, we supply 1.59 Anti-Reflection Coated Polycarbonate lenses. Polycarbonate is used in riot shields and is very strong. We also supply 1.53 Anti-Reflection Coated Trivex lenses.
